Open Stage of Harrisburg Studio/School was founded in 1985, one year before the theatre began producing plays. Embracing the philosophical mission of the theatre, and the belief that acting is a skill learned through study and practice, the mission of the Studio/School is to focus on process. We are about creating better actors (and people) through our classes and workshops.
Our programs are academic and rigorous, and we continue to offer and to expand our year-round sequential classes for adults and students from grades K-12. Our curriculum is tied to national and Pennsylvania standards in arts education, and the our staff are certified teachers and theatre professionals.
In addition to classes, the Studio/School offers outreach programs,Student Matinees for daytime school fieldtrips, and post-performance talkbacks after each Series F Sunday Matinee in our Subscription Series.
We are proud of our school and would love to show you in person. To visit us, please contact us at 717-232-OPEN (6736). We look forward to meeting you.
